Taking a break is generally the first option. This gives staff the time to determine an adequate solution.

Will rebooking/rescheduling alleviate the hazard or risk?

Do we have equipment available that would alleviate the hazard or reduce the risk to staff?

If there is no way to reduce the risk of injury to staff due to hazardous manual handling the job cannot continue and may need to be cancelled or paused until a resolution can be found. This is a final option and should be reserved for situations that cannot be controlled and directly place staff at risk. MWAV has an obligation to prioritise employee safety and not wilfully endanger staff
